PhotographY

My photographic work draws on the history of straight photography and pictorialism. I view photography as both an interventionist act, as well as a process of mechanical reproduction used to describe the natural and built environment. I am interested in the material and formal components of an image, such as analogue film’s grain structure, the use of silver-based black and white, iron-based brown and color dye film emulsions, framing and composition, and how these elements influence and inform the objects or events depicted.
